Wonderland Adventures, Grades 3-6

Overview

From the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to the Queen of Hearts’ croquet game, discover the wonderful world of Alice and the characters she meets on her extraordinary adventures. Explore the excitement of storytelling through individual and group improvisation, develop voice and movement skills to create larger than life characters, and devise your very own Wonderland scenes. Be introduced to techniques for working with text and poetry and rehearse short, scripted stories.  

Taught by industry professionals, NIDA Open offers children the opportunity to join like-minded peers in creative collaboration to develop their ensemble skills, imagination and self-confidence. Experience the joy of drama in a vibrant inclusive and supportive environment at NIDA Open. Don’t be late! 

Components

  • Character Development: Develop a unique character for live performance. 
  • Spontaneity: Use improvisation in live performance. Apply improvisation techniques to the development of a new rehearsed work.  
  • Text Analysis: Interpret and bring to life a short, written text for live performance.
