Storybook City Adventures Grades K-2

Overview

Follow the yellow brick road to Storybook City and bring to life your favourite character adventures. Save Snow White from the Hunter, search the enchanted forest for a tasty gingerbread house but beware the boy who cries WOLF! Explore voice and movement to develop your own storybook character. Create, rehearse and present your original scenes for your NIDA Open friends at the end of the course.

Taught by industry professionals, this course offers children in Grades K-2 the opportunity to boost their self-confidence, imagination, teamwork, and creativity.  Join NIDA Open to experience the joy of drama in an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment!

Components

  • Creative Voice: Participate in fun and engaging creative exercises inspired by popular storybook characters and fairytale adventures.
  • Storytelling: Explore stories, character adventures and creative problem solving through group and individual improvisation.
  • Performance and collaboration: Work with others to build a creative idea into a short, devised presentation.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for children who attend full time school (NSW K-2 equivalent). If your child is not yet attending school, please see our selection of Creative Play courses designed for pre-school children.
