Overview

An access-all-areas look at short film making at your fingertips. NIDA Open, in collaboration with the experts at Smart Fone Flick Fest, offers a hands-on exploration of smartphone filmmaking. Discover the art of storytelling through film, explore the technical aspects of smartphone cinematography and learn to craft compelling narratives that captivate audiences. Develop skills to direct and shoot a short film tailored for Smart Phone film festivals.  

NIDA Open fosters a welcoming and collaborative environment where young people can ignite their creativity and explore the art of filmmaking with like-minded peers.   • Filmmaking: Discover the production processes required to make a short film 
  • Process: Investigate the qualities of a quality short film and undertake practical exercises designed to develop your filmmaking skill set 
  • Technical: Establish best practice whilst on set as you build knowledge of production roles
