Screen Acting Techniques 3

Overview

For students who have completed Screen Acting Techniques 2 (or equivalent), this advanced screen acting course is designed to elevate your on-screen presence through intensive practice and expert guidance. This fast-paced program challenges you to test your craft in a professional setting and push the boundaries of your existing techniques.

You will engage in a series of advanced acting exercises including complex scenes, screen tests and callbacks. Prior to class, you will prepare scenes and present these to the ensemble, receiving feedback and direction from experienced industry professionals. This course emphasises practical application and the ability to perform under industry conditions, requiring commitment to work outside of scheduled class hours.

Under the mentorship of our skilled NIDA Open teaching artists, you will deepen your understanding of professional screen acting techniques and industry practices. The course is designed to foster a dynamic and supportive environment, where you can further develop your skills and gain valuable insights into the professional world of screen acting.

Screen Acting Techniques 3 also includes an Industry Workshop, guided by your NIDA Open Teaching Artist, where you will discuss topics including agents, industry expectations, actor resources and freelancing. Join us to discover the joy of performance at the home of Australia’s national dramatic arts school.
