Overview
Get on pitch in this fast-paced introduction to acting and ensemble singing for live performance! Inspired by films and TV shows like Pitch Perfect and Glee, work with a NIDA Open Musical Theatre expert on contemporary songs, both accompanied and a cappella. Develop your singing and acting techniques in a dynamic, collaborative environment as you learn how the voice works, explore skills to create believable characters and participate in choreography workshops.
Experience the thrill of musical theatre with like-minded peers and impress your family and friends with an original ensemble sharing at the end of the course. Join NIDA Open and find your voice!
Components
- Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works; develop confidence with singing technique and ensemble vocal performance.
- Movement and dance: Work with a NIDA Open movement expert to develop physical performance skills and basic movement sequences for performance.
- Performance: Apply acting, singing and movement practice to a short rehearsed, contemporary music presentation.
- Musicality: Explore harmony, rhythm and melody through vocal performance.
