NIDAWarts, Grades K-2

Overview

Step into the enchanting world of NIDAWarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Explore voice and movement to create your own wizard or witch character. Experiment with charms, potions and broom-flying, and face off against the villain who must not be named. Collaborate with NIDA friends to devise and present magical scenes to family and friends. 

Taught by NIDA Open teaching artists who bring their creative expertise to the classroom, students will build confidence and performance skills through engaging, practical exercises. Cast your magic and ignite your imagination in this spellbinding introductory acting course! 

Components

  • Storytelling: Explore stories, character adventures and creative problem solving through group and individual improvisation. 
  • Characters: Experiment with vocal and physical expression to create characters for performance. 
  • Performance and collaboration: Work with others to build a creative idea into a short, devised presentation. 

Prerequisites

This course is designed for children who attend full time school (NSW Kindergarten – Grade 2 equivalent).
