Overview

Calling all musical theatre aficionados! Unleash your performance potential as you explore the art of storytelling through song. Develop essential vocal and physical skills to extend your singing and movement techniques in our dynamic ensemble focused training. Explore improvisation and NIDA acting techniques to develop authentic characters for the stage and apply your new skills to scene work. Learn what to expect and how to prepare for a musical theatre audition and develop skills to perform professionally and confidently in auditions. 

Taught by our experienced NIDA Open teaching artists, you’ll benefit from their wealth of industry expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you can explore and extend your creativity. Experience the joy of musical theatre with like-minded friends and transform your passion into powerhouse performance!  

Components

  • Acting Technique: Learn and apply NIDA acting technique in a musical theatre performance. 
  • Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works; develop confidence with singing technique and performance. 
  • Movement: Work with a NIDA Open choreographer to develop physical performance skill and dance technique. 
  • Audition Technique: Investigate audition technique for music theatre and put it into practice.
