Overview

Inspired by the worlds of Roald Dahl, enter a world of pure imagination as you act and sing your way through a musical adventure! Develop your singing and storytelling skills, explore magical, revolting, and inspiring characters, and enhance your vocal and physical expression in a supportive, collaborative environment during this holiday intensive course. Extend your acting techniques and performance skills while immersing yourself in Dahl’s fantastical universe. 

Our NIDA Open teaching artists bring their creative expertise and industry experience to inspire students to develop their confidence, creativity, and performance abilities. Work together as an ensemble to present a gob-stoppingly marvellous musical presentation for friends and family at the end of the course! 

Components

• Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works; develop confidence with singing technique and performance. 
• Acting Technique: Practice fundamental acting skills in a musical theatre performance. 
• Rehearsal: Learn songs from musical theatre scores including Matilda and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. 
• Performance: Apply acting, singing and movement practice to a short musical presentation.
