Improvisation Essentials

Overview

In this 2-day introductory course, work with a NIDA Open teaching artist and join like-minded peers in creative, chaotic, fully improvised madness. Discover the core principles of improvisation including accepting and extending offers, responding authentically to performance stimulus and following spontaneous impulses.

Improvisation Essentials will introduce you to the skills required to create compelling character journeys and strong narratives. Engage in practice-based skills training that not only enhances your ability to think on your feet but also strengthens your understanding of improvisational dynamics. Build your confidence as a performer and trust your impulses as you navigate the unpredictable nature of improvised performance.

Join us to unlock your creative potential and develop the skills to improvise with ease, bringing a new level of spontaneity and imagination to your craft.
