Heroes, Villains and Spies: Screen Acting, Grades 3-6

Overview

Embark on three days of thrilling on-screen adventures where you’ll step into the roles of daring heroes, cunning villains and masterful spies. From stopping moving trains to intercepting international secrets, experience the excitement of saving the world—all within the creative comfort of our rehearsal room! Discover the secrets of working with green screen technology, explore characterisation techniques and learn the art of rehearsing and filming scenes for the camera. 

Taught by our experienced NIDA Open teaching artists, this course empowers all students to develop confidence and screen acting skills through hands-on activities. Immerse yourself in the world of heroes, villains, and spies, and bring your adventures to life! 

Components

  • Technique: Practice acting to camera techniques. Discover the difference between live and recorded performance craft. 
  • Character Development: Develop and record a character from a scripted scene. 
  • Text interpretation: Bring to life through the application of NIDA acting technique a short, written text for live and recorded performance.
