Skills Development Program Northern Territory

From 2022-24 NIDA Open delivered a series of skills development courses for Territorians in partnership with Screen Territory and Arts NT. The program was designed to fill skills shortages and build the talent pool of local creatives in specific fields. These included Documentary Filmmaking, Props Making, Producing for Screen, Make-up and Hair for Screen and Costume Design for Screen.

Outcomes

The practical, skills-focussed courses were delivered in-person locally, giving local creatives the opportunity to learn from professionals with direct experience in the screen and theatre sectors.  Over the course of the two-year program Screen Territory has expanded its network of creatives and seen participants forge pathways into the industry.

NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
