About Daniella
Daniella is a professional theatre practitioner and arts educator. Originally from South Africa, Daniella holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Movement Directing from NIDA and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree, specialising in Dramatic Arts, from Wits University, South Africa.
Daniella has worked extensively as an actor, dancer, movement- director and choreographer at companies including Sydney Theatre Company, Ensemble Theatre, Griffin Theatre Company, Spiegelworld Absinthe, The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative, Moving Into Dance Mophatong, and Showtime Management Productions. As winner of The Amanda Holmes Award (2005) and Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Award (2008) Daniella continues to interrogate movement and its imprint on space, performer, and audience in her practice.
Daniella’s was appointed Head of Movement for Sydney Theatre School in 2015, where she later became the Training and Assessment Manager in Vocational Education Training. She designed, implemented, and delivered courses for the Diploma of Acting and Advanced Diploma of Acting.
Since 2008, Daniella has taught across NIDA’s BFA, NIDA Open, and NIDA Corporate departments always remaining committed to values of inclusion, diversity, and accessibility while honouring NIDA’s practice-based training philosophy.
