About Candace
Candace is a Melbourne-based theatre-maker, producer and teaching artist. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor degree in Acting & Theatre, Candace co-founded the independent company Three Birds Theatre, creating original works that have earned critical praise.
She has multiple Green Room Award nominations, including with Three Birds Theatre for Best Ensemble, Best Writing, Best Musical Direction, and Most Innovative Use of Form. Candace co-wrote and performed in Garage Girls, which has been published by Currency Press and selected for the VCAA Drama Playlist 2024.
Candace has performed with leading independent Melbourne venues such as La Mama Theatre and Theatreworks, and her work has been featured in the Melbourne Fringe Festival (Winner of Best Cabaret Award, 2017), Adelaide Fringe Festival, Poppy Seed Theatre Festival and Nati Frinj Bienniale. She has also frequently collaborated with Regional Arts Victoria, touring theatre works to regional communities.
In addition to her performance work, Candace has developed a strong teaching practice, delivering drama classes to students from early childhood through high school.
